Curved bench base & floor
Subfloor prepared, oak-look planks laid to a neat carpet transition, and the curved base clad by hand in matching planks.
Christchurch & Canterbury flooring installers
Floor preparation is our speciality. We test, grind and level every subfloor before a single plank goes down, so your hybrid, laminate, vinyl or timber floor stays flat, quiet and solid for years. Trusted as installation contractors by some of New Zealand's largest flooring companies.
Our speciality · Why our floors last
A floor is only as good as what sits underneath it. That is why preparation is where we spend our time, and where most installers cut corners.
Most flooring problems start underneath: gaps, squeaks, lifting edges and planks that move. They usually come from a subfloor that was not clean, dry or level.
We treat preparation as the most important stage of every installation. We work to the manufacturer's instructions and AS/NZS 1884, the installation standard for resilient flooring in New Zealand and Australia, and we explain what your subfloor needs before we quote.
What we do
We install plank flooring only, and we do it well. We can supply quality New Zealand-sourced products at a sharp price, or install flooring you have already chosen.
SPC · 6, 8 and 10 mm
Rigid-core, water-resistant planks with attached underlay. Ideal for kitchens, living areas and busy family homes.
Floating · click-lock
The look of real timber with strong scratch and fade resistance, at a price that suits most budgets.
Click or glue-down
Warm, quiet and easy to clean. A practical choice for rentals, apartments and commercial fit-outs.
Engineered & solid timber
Engineered or solid timber planks glued directly to a prepared subfloor for a solid, quiet feel underfoot and a finish that lasts.
Uplift · grind · FLC · level
We lift and take away old carpet and floors, then grind, level and check for moisture so your new floor sits on a sound base.
Nosings · profiles
Glued stair treads and risers, stair nosings, end profiles and transition bars for a clean, finished edge.

About Mobo Flooring
Mobo Flooring has been installing floors in New Zealand for more than four years. Our team of six qualified installers trained in New Zealand and Australia.
Some of New Zealand's largest flooring companies trust us as their installation contractors. We bring the same standard of preparation and finish to every private home we work in.
We run three fully equipped vans and own the complete set of tools for every stage of the job, from grinding and levelling to the final trim. That means fewer delays, fewer subcontractors and one team responsible for the result.
We treat every home as if it were our own, and we only leave when we are proud of the finish.
Our commitment to you
Every quote is itemised line by line, so you can see exactly what you are paying for before anything starts.
We never lay a floor over a subfloor that is not ready. If yours needs work, we tell you why and show you before we start.
Our own qualified installers and our own tools on every job, so the same people are responsible for the result.
We clean up as we go, walk through the finished floor with you, and leave you with care instructions.
Common questions
Yes. We visit, measure and check your subfloor at no cost, then send you a written, itemised quote. There is no obligation to go ahead.
A typical home of around 100 m² takes about five working days, including preparation. We give you a clear timeframe in your quote.
Carpet and existing floating floors must be removed first. Some well-bonded hard floors can stay, but we check this on site. We handle uplift and disposal for you.
Every subfloor is different. Some need only a clean, others need grinding and self-levelling compound. Pricing it separately means you only pay for what your floor actually needs.
Hybrid has a rigid stone-plastic core and is highly water-resistant, so it suits kitchens and family areas. Laminate has a wood-fibre core and offers a realistic timber look at a lower price. We are happy to bring samples of both.
Engineered timber has a real timber top layer over a stable core, so it handles New Zealand's temperature and humidity changes well and suits most homes. Solid timber is timber all the way through and can be sanded and refinished many times over its life. We install both glued down, and we can help you decide on site.
